In year applications

In-year admissions are co-ordinated by Bexley Admissions who operate the waiting list for our school. Please contact them for details of available places.

If you have been informed by Bexley Admissions that your child has been allocated a place at Chatsworth, you will be contacted by the school and invited to visit with your child. Parents will be given an application pack to complete and offered the opportunity to visit the school. Once all the relevant documentation has been received you will be given a date for your child to join us at Chatsworth.

Oversubscription criteria

In the event of there being an oversubscrption of applicants to Chatsworth, the following criteria for each relevant age group will be applied:

  • Looked After children (LAC) and Post Looked-After children (PLAC) will be given priority over non-LAC or PLAC children.
  • Children with siblings currently at the school will be given priority
  • Children of staff at the school will be given priority
  • Proximity to the school

The school will accept all pupils who name the school in their EHC plan.

Appeals

Please note that because of the legal requirement to have a maximum of 30 pupils in infant classes, the power of Appeal Panels to allow appeals is very limited, therefore very few are successful. Parents are only likely to be successful with an appeal if they can show either:

  1. That the admission of their child would not breach the infant class size limit.
  2. That a place would have been offered if the admission arrangements had complied with admissions law or had been correctly and impartially applied.
  3. That the decision not to admit their child was not one which a reasonable Admission Authority would make in the circumstances of the case.

Starting in Reception

Mrs Patel, our fantastic EYFS Leader, has produced an ‘All About Me’ booklet for you to complete with your child.  Please complete the booklet and bring it along with you on your induction session.  We can’t wait to find out all about you!
